HCI Announces Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President, Fraud Control

HealthCare Insight® (HCI), a division of Verisk Health, Inc. and provider of clinically validated fraud, abuse and overpayment prevention and detection solutions, announced today that
Christie A. Moon will fill the newly created office of Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President, Fraud Control.

“I’m excited to join such a progressive and innovative company,” said Moon. “This is a very interesting time to work in health care. HCI’s products are cutting edge and I look forward to working with HCI clients on compliance and fraud control issues.”

Moon completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Washington and received a law degree from Pepperdine University where she served as a law review editor and was published in the Pepperdine Law Review. Moon then worked as a prosecuting attorney in Pasadena, California and Washington State.

Transitioning to the health care sector, Moon then spent more than 15 years with Kaiser Permanente. In her first ten years with Kaiser, Moon served as Staff Counsel and was then promoted to Senior Counsel. Moon also served as counsel for Kaiser Permanente’s major fraud investigations. In 2005 Moon was promoted to the position of National Director of Fraud Control in the Kaiser Permanente National Compliance Ethics & Integrity Office. There, Moon developed and directed the National Fraud Control Team which was Kaiser’s first national effort specifically focused on fraud control and related compliance issues. Moon was subsequently commended at the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Board of Directors by Kaiser’s Chief Compliance Officer for building a fraud control team thought to be the finest in the nation.

“Ms. Moon brings an outstanding set of expertise, skills and perspectives to HCI. Her addition clearly indicates our dedication to fraud control and prevention, and to upholding the compliance aspects of our products and services. We’re pleased that she will join us as another important member of our strategic leadership team,” said Dr. Barry Johnson, President of HCI.

Moon will work from HCI offices in Salt Lake City and remotely from Carlsbad, California where she lives with her husband, Aaron, and their four children.
